Why does Imus still have a job? Will he be able to show up tomorrow to his overpaid perch and babble on as he always does?
For those who haven't followed what happened last week, Imus chose to denigrate the Rutgers women's basketball team, which had played in the NCAA championship game on Tuesday night:
"That's some nappy-headed hos there, I'm going to tell you that"

There have been calls for his resignation in the blogosphere:

There are plans to picket the radio station WFAN; the Imus show is also broadcast on MSNBC.

I don't usually jump into these kinds of incidents, but I'm damn mad that this overpaid white guy gets to stroll to his stuffed chair tomorrow, and gets handed hours of network time to reveal the inner contents of a very un-beautiful mind. Is it all in a day's work to spew out a potion of racism and sexism, assuming that no one will care about the insults to these young women?
And the Rutgers women had a hell of a season, and don't get half the attention that a men's team of similar talent would get.
It's not OK to denigrate these African-American athletes. I'm adding to the call for MSNBC-TV and for WFAN radio station to fire him.
