What is it about zer0-tolerance that MSNBC does not get?
Last night, I posted a diary asking why Imus still had a job and asked for MSNBC to fire him:

I am repeating that demand tonight.
There's a dustup today with Sharpton and then the TV network decides that a 2 week suspension will "make it all go away." Do they think that there is no memory in the blogosphere?
Wrong.
He's the headline on his own network:
MSNBC said Imus’ regret at making the inappropriate comment and his stated dedication to changing the show’s discourse made it believe this was the appropriate response.

Their coverage is all about Imus and his opportunity for reform and repair. How much privilege does one guy get?
The so-called hipster is revealed for his vile and regressive program of keeping the young women athletes from Rutgers in their rightful place. On the day after their appearance in the NCAA final, he wasted no time describing these athletes with racist and sexist epithets.
In the diary last night, there was support for holding the networks accountable for their sponsorship of his platform. They are still accountable tonight. What has changed? If anything, today MSNBC confirmed their continued maintenance and endorsement of the Imus platform - and make no mistake, the announcement today reinforced their real business decision: Imus still has a job.
Any supposed liberal veneer that Imus has cultivated is all the more reason for progressives to stand with the young women he has so cruelly denigrated and demand that this huckster be taken off the air. And any pol or pundit that enters his playpen will be assumed to endorse the Imus platform.
So we ask again: Why does Imus still have a job?
